Great site.. Enjoyed the pics of the F/C rebuild, (we have a 2B as well) but particularly liked the Safir 6x6 pics.We recently found one of these in UK & brought it down here; its formerly one of 15 cherrypickers that were built on that conversion, but it now sports a full-length body/cab & an Isuzu 2.8/5-speed. best regards Nick & Annie

Hey Bloke" . . Well done, with your page. I stumbled on it during a search for info on my somewhat hybrid machine. You're Right, I Was Bored, lol,, as I read your 'about me' bit, I realised that perhaps we Do have something in common in as much as having Good intentions toward undertaking and completing projects.I bought a lovely, straight(undamaged body)and complete(with 'out-back' extras) 1979 L-R LWB 4dr StationWagon(as it's stated on Australian registration/Mo label). I feel fortunate to have (incredibly) chanced upon this opportunity considering it's such a Damn good complete running and driveable vehicle for which I paid a mere $1,000 dollars /approx.500pounz yeh!? Admitadly, it Was a friend of a friend deal. Nonetheless, it is Powered by a Leyland 4.4 (Dirty on petrol, but Smooth&Sexy on LPG / Dinosaur Juice, as Clarckson puts it) and apparently the manual trans belonged to a Terrier truck,, which suggests that perhaps the two were married and living in the truck together. I've had this Wagon a few years now but done 'bugger-all' with it,, albeit I have'nt really had a suitable premises until this year to live and be able to work on vehicles due to being a Renter/Tennant and finding a place with a decent size garage. But Now I Can 'Rip into it' and give it a total overhaul throughout,, ie. I intend to bring it back to as-new condition by 'strippin'it' of all surface rust around chassis and undercarriage and give that "bloody marvelous" aluminium body a fresh lick'o paint too!Anyhow, I have'nt done much searching at home yet, but being the cheapskate that I am, I thoght I'd see if I could find any workshop Tech on that Terrier 4x4 manual Transmission . So, Back to work now!!Sorry to bore you :) Cheers mate
